Learn · Protein

Protein is a cooked katori.

The India gap is not a 52 g / 100 g dry soya table. The US argument is not a gram olympics scoreboard. Both are food first.

What we print

Household measures as eaten: 1 katori cooked dal, 1 katori cooked chana, 100 g paneer cubes, 1 tub Greek yogurt. Complementary proteins (dal + rice) are FAO food science, not a tradition-as-drug claim.

Where authorities disagree

ICMR-NIN DGI 2024 keeps the Indian plate as cereal + pulse + curd/flesh/nuts, and warns against protein supplements for muscle.

US DGA 2025–2030 (policy, politically contested) raised protein talk to 1.2–1.6 g/kg and put protein high on a pyramid graphic. Harvard’s Frank Hu (9 Jan 2026) flagged that graphic against the 10% saturated-fat text.

We do not silently merge those maps. India pages lead with NIN. US-only lines stay boxed as US policy.

What we will not do

Default empty state remains a vegetarian thali with two cooked proteins. See dal and chana.

MARK is a dummy wordmark. India is a locale, not the company name. Not medical advice.
